It has now been three years since I first discovered South Korea. Today, with great emotion, I announce the publication of my book series dedicated to this country, in the hope of shedding light on the intensity, beauty, and complexity of its traditional culture.

제가 처음 한국을 알게 된 지 벌써 3년이 되었습니다. 오늘, 깊은 감동과 함께 한국에 관한 제 책 시리즈의 출간을 발표하게 되어 기쁘게 생각합니다. 이 시리즈를 통해 한국 전통 문화의 강렬함, 아름다움, 그리고 복합적인 매력을 더 많은 사람들에게 알리고자 합니다.

South Korea has a history that is both rich and deeply moving. It stands as one of the most remarkable economic success stories in world history, yet it now faces significant social challenges that come hand in hand with its rapid ascent.

한국은 역사적으로 풍부하면서도 감동적인 이야기를 지닌 나라입니다. 세계 역사상 가장 놀라운 경제 성장 기록을 세운 국가 중 하나이지만, 급격한 발전과 함께 중요한 사회적 과제들도 마주하고 있습니다.

My commitment to this project is driven by the deep affection I have for this unique culture, whose roots remain largely unknown internationally—often overshadowed by the ultra-modern image shaped by K-pop, K-dramas, and K-beauty.

이 프로젝트에 대한 저의 열정은 무엇보다도 한국 문화에 대한 깊은 애정에서 비롯되었습니다. K-pop, K-드라마, K-뷰티가 만들어낸 현대적인 이미지 뒤에는 여전히 세계적으로 잘 알려지지 않은 한국 문화의 깊은 뿌리가 존재합니다.

I have been particularly touched by Korean pictorial art, which sets itself apart from its Asian counterparts through an unusual use of colors and a unique way of depicting its subjects.

특히 저는 한국 회화 예술에 깊은 감명을 받았습니다. 한국의 그림은 주변 아시아 국가들의 스타일과는 차별화된 독특한 색감과 표현 방식을 가지고 있습니다.

Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the Koreans I have met along my journey. Their love for their culture, the time they have shared with me, and, for some, their generous hospitality have left a lasting impression on me. I am deeply grateful to you all.
